Ozempic face is the everyday name for the facial changes that follow rapid weight loss on GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide and tirzepatide. As the body sheds fat, the face loses the fat pads that give it structure faster than the skin can shrink to fit, producing hollow temples and cheeks, deeper folds, jowls, thinner lips and loose, crepey skin on the face and neck. The same changes occur after bariatric surgery or any rapid weight loss.

Lost facial fat does not return unless weight is regained, and skin elasticity recovers only partly, especially after 40. The changes are very treatable, however. Hyaluronic acid fillers restore the support that was lost, collagen-stimulating treatments improve skin firmness over time, and Botox Cosmetic softens neck bands. Most patients see a natural result in stages over a few months.

Not entirely. Current guidance favours starting early with light support: skin quality treatments, collagen stimulation and neuromodulators can begin during active weight loss, when the skin is still retracting. Heavier structural filling of the cheeks, temples and jawline is best done once your weight has been stable for roughly three to six months, so the result stays proportionate to your final face.

No. The goal is to replace the structural support you lost, not to add volume you never had. Treatment is staged and conservative, using products chosen for each zone, and results are reviewed between sessions. Patients consistently describe the result as looking like themselves at their new weight, only rested.

Rapid weight loss often exposes vertical platysma bands and leaves the neck skin crepey. A maintenance calendar is built into every plan.

Plans are quoted per product and per syringe at your consultation, based on the zones being treated. Many patients phase treatment across several visits, which spreads the cost and keeps the result proportionate as the body settles.

Ideally, yes. A baseline set of photographs and a light plan before weight loss begins is the best predictor of a natural result, because we can support the face as it changes rather than rebuild it afterwards.
