Dr. Heck is an accredited, dual board-certified medical dermatologist who graduated with honours from Queen's University, where she completed a Bachelor of Commerce. She further earned her medical degree at Queen's University and completed her 5-year Dermatology residency at the University of Calgary. She is an active Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology.
Dr. Heck is passionate about medical and surgical dermatology, including skin cancer detection, skin cancer treatment, paediatric dermatology, along with inflammatory and autoimmune skin diseases. During her 13 years of post-secondary education, she has held numerous leadership positions, including serving as Chief Resident during her dermatology residency. Her enthusiasm for dermatology has led to multiple publications in international, peer-reviewed scientific journals, and her ongoing involvement in the teaching of both medical students and residents.
