Dr. Carey earned her Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Linguistics from the University of British Columbia (UBC) before completing her Doctor of Medicine at the same institution. She has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Faculty of Medicine Dean M. M. Weever Award for academic excellence, the Hamber Prize in Medicine, and UBC’s highest undergraduate honor, the Sherwood Lett Memorial Award. 

Following her medical degree, Dr. Carey completed a family medicine residency in British Columbia and pursued an enhanced skills fellowship in emergency medicine at the University of Calgary. Her international medical training spans diverse locations, including the Dominican Republic, Japan, and South Africa. 

With a broad range of expertise, Dr. Carey’s career includes emergency medicine, women’s health, forensic medicine, concussion assessments, medical consulting, medical education, and healthcare administration. She is currently advancing her specialization by working toward a diploma in dermatology from Cardiff University in Wales. 

Outside of her professional commitments, Dr. Carey enjoys staying active through fitness, skiing, and mountain biking, as well as indulging her love for reading.
