Is medical aesthetic treatment safe for darker skin tones?
It can be, provided the platform and settings are chosen for your Fitzpatrick type. Several widely used resurfacing lasers carry a genuine risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation in skin of colour. Fountain selects devices — such as fractional radiofrequency, which delivers energy below the pigment-bearing surface layer — so treatment can be offered safely across the full Fitzpatrick range.
Do I need a referral for a cosmetic consultation in Calgary?
No. Cosmetic and medical aesthetic consultations are booked directly and do not require a physician referral. Cosmetic treatments are not covered by Alberta Health Care Insurance.
How much do treatments cost?
Cost depends on the treatment, the area, and the number of units or sessions involved, so it is quoted at consultation once a plan exists rather than estimated in advance. You will always be given the full cost of a plan before anything is booked.
How soon will I see results?
It varies by treatment. Neuromodulators such as Botox® typically begin showing at three to seven days and peak around two weeks. Hyaluronic acid filler is immediate and settles over about two weeks. Collagen-stimulating treatments such as Sculptra® and Morpheus8™ build gradually across six weeks to three months. Results vary between individuals.
