Biography

Dr. Harry Liu is a highly skilled dermatologist who completed his residency training in dermatology at the University of British Columbia. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University and earned his medical degree from the University of Alberta. During his residency, Dr. Liu received advanced medical and procedural training from internationally renowned dermatologists in cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, hidradenitis suppurativa, skin of colour, laser surgery, and scar treatment. His training took place at esteemed institutions such as the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Washington, Cosmetic Laser Dermatology in San Diego, Yonsei University in Seoul, Korea, and the First Affiliated Hospital at Sun Yat-sen University in Guangzhou, China. An active contributor to scientific research, Dr. Liu has published over 30 peer-reviewed articles in the fields of complex medical dermatology, medical education, and cosmetics. He has presented his work at prestigious conferences including the World Congress of Dermatology, the American Academy of Dermatology Annual Meeting, and the Canadian Dermatology Association Annual Conference. His outstanding work has earned him recognition as a "Rising Derm Star" twice by the Fall Clinical Conference committee. Dr. Liu is dedicated to teaching and mentorship, having guided many students from lower socioeconomic backgrounds to pursue careers in medicine across Canada. His commitment to medical education was recognized when he was nominated as a "Culture Changer in Medical Education" by the Canadian Federation of Medical Students. His areas of special interest encompass skin of colour, pigmentary disorders, multidisciplinary care in atopic dermatitis, and the innovative medical application of laser and energy devices for treating challenging skin conditions. His favourite part of his job is accompanying patients on their journey towards achieving clear and healthy skin.
